Bud - Wise? - No!

I learned a few important lessons after the Kraftwerk show.

1) If there is an afterparty, either show up early, buy tickets in advance, or get on the guestlist. Fucking everybody in NYC is on the guestlist or knows Kim's brother's sister who is the editor of Fader (example). Luckily for the average un-elite, many parties make it easy to get on the guestlist, simply by submitting an email saying that you want to be on the list.

2) Whenever the words 'open' and 'bar' appear in the same phrase, either your vision is blurred or you are probably not seeing the fine print.

Needless to say, I did not get into the Martin Gore party last night because I got there too late and it was all full. I did read that Brazilian Girls, Kraftwerk, and Christian Aguilera were all in appearance. Luckily for me, I ended up at the Knitting Factory and got punk'd into hanging around for the open bar that was from 1-2 AM.

Little did I know, that open bar really translated into "free B2E," which for those of you who don't know anything about beers that sound like they are named after boy bands, is Budweiser's new energy beverage that consists of beer with Caffeine, Ginseng, and Guarana Extract. As you can probably guess, it is gross. However, it will be come trendy because some dumb popped-collar kid things it is awesome to chug and get hyped up and drunk at the same time. I salute you Mr. Popped-Collar.

I have also learned that Paul Hinojos (Sparta, ATDI) has joined The Mars Volta as a full time member, making the band now have three out of five ATDI members.

Have you ever wanted to see a talk show taping? Do you want to see Fischerspooner, The Faint, Bloc Party, for free? Details are here (not a scam) on how to obtain free tickets, while supplies last.
